Jinja - Councillors from the municipality who travelled to Kisumu in Kenya for a study tour last week were reportedly conned out of UgShs400, 000 by money-changers at the Busia - Kenya border post. According to sources, the Jinja district speaker Mathew Mukwaya was the biggest victim after he lost Kshs6400, approximately UgShs172, 000.
Others were: Abubaker Maganda, the Jinja Central Councillor, who lost Kshs3, 200 (UgShs86, 400), Eng Wamuzibira, who lost Kshs3, 000
