Govt cuts tax on fuel

The Government has reduced tax on fuel imported through Dar es Salaam port by Shs150 per litre in a move to encourage traders to use this southern corridor. But dealers importing through Kenya, where the bulk of fuel passes, will continue to pay full taxes. This means the reduction will have little impact on the skyrocketing pump prices in the country.
