Mengo to sue government over Kings’ Act

Buganda Kingdom has said it is ready to take on the central government in the Constitutional Court once the controversial Cultural and Traditional Leaders’ Act 2010 which was muscled into law by parliament and later accented to by President Yoweri Museveni is published in the national gazette and declared operational.
This was declared yesterday by Apollo Makubuya, the Kingdom’s Attorney General in his report to the Buganda Lukiiko meeting which convened at Bulange Mengo, the seat of the Kingdom, to discuss the King’s Act among other issues in the kingdom.  Read more
