The massive wave of land seizures in the city has come close to claiming its first forest; Namanve. The 79-year-old forest reserve now faces extinction following a bitter row between two rival groups. One group of rowdy army veterans is headed by retired Lt Col Ongia and the other by Kiira mayor Mamerito Mugerwa.
