Old currency notes fuelling inflation

It was recently reported in the media that the rate of inflation had risen from 6.4 per cent to a double digit 11 per cent. One of the main causes of inflation in any economy is the printing of too many banknotes leading to too much money chasing too few goods. The just concluded elections and the delay in withdrawing the old notes should be blamed.
