Opposition leaders condemn walk-to-work arrests

Hoima - Leaders of opposition parties in the district have condemned the arrest of their members describing it as brutal and infringing on the right to expression. Over 10 opposition members including the Forum for Democratic Change president Dr Kizza Besigye and Democratic Party president Norbert Mao were arrested and charged in Kampala on Monday, April 11, following attempts to walk-to-work in protest at the increasing fuel and food prices.
