Tanzania’s Yanga FC hastily handed coach Sam Timbe a one-year renewable contract yesterday to thwart rivals Simba SC’s secret attempts to snatch the Ugandan. Timbe’s seven-match trial contract had expired on Sunday after he had successfully guided Yanga in reclaiming the glory they had lost to Simba the previous season. The new contract comes into effect on May 1.
