Barclays relocates Dubai headquarters to Africa

Barclays Bank has confirmed it is relocating its Africa headquarters in Dubai back to Johannesburg. The group has been running its Africa branches out of its Dubai base where it had relocated to at the end of 2006. The bank, which has operations in 10 African countries including Uganda, has since its relocation to Dubai seen its rivals - Standard Chartered Bank and Standard Bank - make huge gains on the African market.
