Calm returns to Besigye hometown

Rukungiri - Relative calm returned to the town following a six-hour demonstration on Monday, May 2, by residents protesting the brutal arrest of Forum for Democratic Change leader, Dr. Kizza Besigye, and the high commodity prices.

Taxi drivers and boda boda cyclists spearheaded the exercise which began at 6.30am and police battled protestors till mid-day, paralyzing transport to and from Rukungiri in the ensuing commotion.
