Farmers warm up for higher coffee prices

According to the International Coffee Organisation (ICO) the growth in coffee demand in China is not expected to slow any sooner. With less coffee coming from South America, where the crop was hit by bad weather, African coffee producers could make a killing on the high coffee prices on the world market.

Statistics from the Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) indicate that 176,561 60-kilo bags of coffee worth US$26.5 million were exported in April 2011 compared to 223,099 bags worth
