International rights body Human Rights Watch (HRW) has condemned the brutal killings of civilians by Ugandan security forces to counter recent demonstrations and has called for an independent probe. In a detailed report released yesterday, HRW said at least nine people had been killed in April during several demonstrations protesting against wasteful government spending and rising commodity prices.
