Tough times for West Nile tobacco farmers

Life is getting harder for the tobacco farmers in the West Nile districts of Koboko and Maracha after realising very low crop yields due to a prolonged drought that hit the region late last year. According to Rashid Taban, a large scale tobacco farmer from Kilago Village in Koboko, most farmers had acquired loans and farm inputs from BAT where they would repay in form of supplies.
