When embattled Libyan leader Muammar el Quaddaffi came up with the idea of forming the United States of Africa and having a single continental currency some of his peers rejected the idea outright. This was at the onset of the African Union heads of state extraordinary summit held in September 2010 in Adis Ababa. Now African heads of state from 26 countries under different economic blocs that include COMESA, SADC and the EAC Common Market are gathered at Sandton
