Health workers are vital assets in the delivery of popu­lation health ser­vices, in all countries, Uganda inclusive. In addition to the constant outflow of skilled pro­fessionals leaving the country for better prospects abroad, Uganda has a shortage of health workers arising from insufficient training capacity, low remuneration and poor working conditions in the pub­lic and private- not- for- profit sectors making it difficult for the sectors to recruit and retain
