Blackout: Kenyan flights jam Entebbe

Sunday’s power blackout at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) strenuously spread resources at neighbouring airports too thin and showed how vulnerable and powerless East and Central Africa’s largest airport can be without power. As the blackout persisted for hours the numbers of flights diverted to Entebbe Airport soared disrupting traffic flow.

The power outage which happened on Sunday at 3.30 am and lasted for hours on end, disrupted landing and take offs
