Disasters increase demand for blood

Mukono - Victims of disasters and health-related complications have amplified the demand for blood in the country.
According to Sr Evace Abwoli, an official from Uganda Blood Transfusion Service (UBTS), the blood bank is stretched whenever there are lightning strikes, riots and births.

Sr Abwoli, a UBTS senior nursing officer, made the remarks recently, while leading a technical team to Riley Packaging Company at Mabala in Mukono, where 350 workers donated 182
