The East African Community mulls regional commodity exchange

The East African Community (EAC) is inching closer to starting a com­modity exchange market that could make the region a trade hub. When established the ex­change could also help in addressing price manipu­lation, experts say are com­mon in developing coun­tries. A statement from the EAC secretariat says the bloc has started negotia­tions with Nicolas Berg­gruen Institute to help in establishing the commod­ity market.
