Teachers threaten strike over salaries

Rukungiri - Following governments failure to increase teachers’ salaries, they have resolved to lay down their tools by July 18 until their grievances are addressed. Citing the ‘improved remuneration’ of MPs, the Rukungiri teachers said they should be paid a minimum of Shs400, 000 to enable them cope with the rising prices of goods and runaway inflation.
