A Shs2.6 billion weighbridge has officially been opened at Luwero 40 kilometers north of the capital Kampala, signaling Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) is tightening
the noose on truck drivers who overload. The weigh bridge will check transit and local truck drivers using the Kampala-Luwero-Gulu highway to Southern Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo who had become synonymous with overloading.
