Oral hygiene important for pregnant women

Pregnant women need to ensure they pay close attention to their dental health, according to one expert.
Due to hormonal changes which occur during pregnancy, women are more at risk of experiencing bleeding gums and gum disease, explained Dr Nigel Carter, chief executive of the British Dental Health Foundation.

“Some women’s dental health may need closer attention” during gestation for this reason, he suggested.
