Once a glamorous name in Uganda’s bid to improve its garment exports to the US, Apparels Tri-Star is now a ghastly and ghostly place, lifeless, solitary and, lately, a death trap. Close to 200 girls employed at this garment-making facility in Bugolobi, a suburb of Kampala, are living in deplorable and inhuman conditions.
