Libyan fires AGOA workers

About 200 Ugandans working with Lap Textiles Limited, a Libyan company, are without jobs after being sacked by management on Monday. Lap Textiles is the company that bought out the defunct Apparel Tri-star (AGOA) taking up all its liabilities in 2007.
Most of these workers, who chose to stay on after the collapse of Apparel Tri-star, have had their dreams shattered. It is the latest setback in a catalogue of problems that have plagued the AGOA girls over the years.
