Parent pressure on children is failing them

I am a teenage student and have a number of questions for parents and the way they try to raise us, which in the process fails our dreams and aspirations. When will parents understand us? Why do parents try to enforce their beliefs, and taboos on us? Why can’t we choose a career of our choice?

They have lived their 40-50 yrs, now they want to live our lives as well. What they could not become in their childhood they want us to become, not even analysing what our potential is. In the end
