Uganda has won the bid to host the 2013 Commonwealth Local Government Conference, even though the 2007 CHOGM financial mess is still playing in our minds. The Pearl of Africa beat off stiff competition from India, Malta and Botswana in the bidding contest.
Local Government Minister Adolf Mwesige, who was flanked by Commonwealth Local Government Forum Secretary General, Carl Wright, made the pronouncement in Kampala yesterday.
