Makerere University to host Microsoft innovation centre

Makerere University could be heading to regain its glory as a continental institute for academic excellence and research. In yet another move that may tilt the scales in this direction, Microsoft is set to establish an innovation centre at Makerere University’s College of Computing and Information Sciences come July 2011.

The centre will see students train in a cross section of software for mobile phones, server sites, desktop, and cloud computing, at a subsidised rate.
