Health workers are vital assets in the delivery of population health services, in all countries, Uganda inclusive. In addition to the constant outflow of skilled professionals leaving the country for better prospects abroad, Uganda has a shortage of health workers arising from insufficient training capacity, low remuneration and poor working conditions in the public and private- not- for- profit sectors making it difficult for the sectors to recruit and retain
