The Crane’s recent away triumph over Guinea Bissau in an African Nations’ Cup qualifier has catapulted Uganda two steps up in the Coca-Cola Fifa rankings released yesterday. Uganda is now ranked 84th in the world and first in the East African region. Uganda beat Guinea Bissau 1-0 to register their first win in a decade and fasten their top position in Group J on points after three rounds of matches.
Uganda last played in Africa’s biggest soccer extravaganza in 1978.
