Child riot victim fails to pay for drugs

For about four weeks, 25-year-old Annet Nabukenya has not known what it feels like to live in her house or sleep in the comfort of her bed. The only home she now knows is the paediatric wing of Mulago Hospital. For these past weeks Nabukenya has been nursing her two-and-a-half year-old daughter, Patricia Namugumya. The toddler was shot in Namasuba on April 29 during one of the infamous walk-to-work protests that rocked Kampala and the rest of the country.
