The political unrest that has engulfed the country since Monday’s opposition led walk to work protests claimed its latest scalp yesterday after students at the country’s biggest public university, Makerere, went on strike. Incensed by a reported plan to double tuition fees, students threw all caution to the wind and vented their anger by looting and vandalising university property.
