Kotido Resident District Commissioner Andrew Chen Napaja, has asked the Karimajong to shun Female Genital Mutilation. Napaja, who was on Sunday speaking at the Leadership Forum described the practice as obsolete and an abuse to dignity of the girl-child. “Practices such as FGM and rape in marriage have no room in modern society,” Napaja said. He also urged the Karimajong to embrace government programmes like education, aimed at development in the region.
