Over 1,600 employees of Mukwano Group have every reason to smile this Easter after the company announced an eight per cent salary increase as the prices of commodities shoot up. The company’s chief executive officer, Tony Gadhoke, described the gesture as a way to boost the morale of their workers. “We all know that times are hard. Every Ugandan is facing hardship due to the rise in inflation and increase in commodity prices,” said Gadhoke.
