Although construction of the Kenya-Uganda pipeline still hangs in the balance, the East African Community has obtained a US$600,000 grant from the African Development Bank (ADB) for a feasibility study of a planned extension from Kampala to Burundi.
The construction of an Eldoret-Kampala pipeline by Libyan company Tumoil, stalled after the United Nations ordered a freeze of assets linked to Libya leader Col Mummer Gadaffi’s government.
