Fort Portal has joined the steadily growing number of districts demanding city status. District mayor Asaba Ruyonga reportedly made the demand over the weekend during victory celebrations for members of parliament from Kabarole district.
“I met with the district leaders over the weekend and the mayor made a speech saying they want to become a city,” Daudi Migereko the minister for lands, housing, and urban
